Our People
We are a SDO certified minority and woman business enterprise (MBE and WBE) at the forefront of public health consulting, dedicated to addressing the significant influence of social determinants on health outcomes. Laura Martínez, an immigrant from the Dominican Republic, founded the organization in 2019 to improve health outcomes in the Worcester community. Her lived experiences and personal struggles inspired her to create solutions to improve health outcomes for others facing similar challenges.

Laura Martínez
FOUNDER & OWNER
she/ella
Originally from Santo Domingo, the Dominican Republic, Laura Martínez moved to Worcester in the early 1990s and has since become an established member of the city's BIPOC community. Laura's early experience with a different environment, language, and climate had a significant effect on her growth and development. Her desire to lend a hand to those in need was stoked further by the lessons she learned from this experience.
After succeeding in automotive sales, Laura gave back to the community through financial literacy work. She went to Worcester State University to get her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration despite the fact that she was a "non-traditional student." After laying this groundwork, she continued her education and earned her master's degree in project management from Georgetown University. After four years in the automobile industry, she decided to switch gears and pursue entrepreneurship instead. You can make a positive impact on society and advance the cause of social justice by applying the skills you gained in the auto sales industry to the field of advocacy.
She is the founder of Martinez Consulting, which provides services with an emphasis on health equity. Laura hopes to reduce health care inequities and promote more widespread access to health and wellness by launching this initiative. Her personal history, her commitment to empowering others, and her desire to spur social progress have all influenced the path she has taken.

Our Partners
We have established strong partnerships with government agencies, NGOs, hospitals, and grassroots organizations to amplify our impact and reach diverse populations. By working closely with our partners, we ensure that our initiatives are sustainable, culturally sensitive, and responsive to the needs of the communities we serve.
The Coalition for a Healthy Greater Worcester
The Coalition brings people and organizations together around health issues that affect quality of life in the region. They raise awareness, create opportunities for networking, and facilitate innovative problem-solving. We develop, implement, and evaluate initiatives, events, projects, and policies that address areas of racial and health equity.
The Central MA Center on Food Equity (CFE)
The CFE is a cohort of community individuals, front-line providers, research, and community partners that are working together to reduce hunger in Central Massachusetts. The Center serves as an umbrella structure for 3 intersecting coalitions: The Worcester Food Policy Council, The Central MA SNAP Coalition, and the City of Worcester Taskforce on Food Security. The Center and the work of the coalitions are being funded by Worcester County Food Bank as part of its advocacy program.
Worcester Community Action Council
The Worcester Community Action Council's vision is to break the cycle of poverty one neighbor at a time. Through safety-net services and asset building solutions, WCAC creates economic mobility opportunities for tens of thousands of people annually through programs such as energy assistance, early education and care, financial empowerment, positive youth development, and career pathways.
